Woodstock: Two Hours of Peace and Music

A special episode celebrating the 50th anniversary of Woodstock and the Harlem Cultural Festival.

In August 2019, I produced a two-hour special to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock.

The episode featured an interview with the music historian and producer behind the most comprehensive box set of music from the festival to date, as well as a conversation with Rock Hall of Famer Freddie Stone and other people involved in a 50th anniversary edition of the the Harlem Cultural Festival, aka Black Woodstock.

But the real joy of the project was getting musicians to record songs by Woodstock artists. Lawrence, Kimbra, Tedd Leo, Lulus, Clare Bowen, and Donn T all agreed to contribute songs to a covers EP.

To the right, you can stream each of those songs, and can find check out the full episode here.
